I'm just your average girl who wants to live a long and happy life. I believe we make our own happiness and can not expect others to do it for us. Every day is a new day and we choose to make it the best one of our lives or to live half a life being miserable because things aren't what we expected, hoped or wanted. I have chosen to take ownership of my life, move away from that which was poisoning my spirit and embrace the things that breath life into me.
I have a very large family that I love to bits. My ex-husband and I have eight children together, 5 girls and 3 boys, and all of them have grown to be wonderful adults. Well, to be honest the two youngest are still living at home but they are old enough (almost 16 and 18) for me to know they will be brilliant adults. I have four beautiful grand darlings, 3 girls and 1 boy, as well as 4 grand kitties, 2 grand budgies and 1 grand puppy. I am lucky to still have both my parents and their spouses. I can't imagine my life without them and hope I have a long time before I have to face that. I have siblings that I love but never get to see as we have all moved to far off climes but lucky for us we have Face Book and Skype.
I love to cook and bake and I spend a good portion of every day looking for new recipes. As soon as we've cleaned up one meal I am planning the next. I love to collect dishes and kitchen gadgets and can spend hours in the house ware department of any store. I'm an avid reader, especially fluffy, warm, cosy mysteries. I do broaden my scope and read other things as well but my guilty pleasure is a cosy! My husband, Larry, and I have a motorcycle and you can find us on any warm Saturday or Sunday riding about Scotland. Larry wants me to start studying for my CBT to I can get my own license but I haven't gotten up the courage for that yet. Stay tuned for further updates.
My big dream is to travel the world and eat lots of tasty things while I do it. I am saddened by the political turmoil in the world today and am disappointed because it limits the places I will feel safe to go. I hope I am able to visit a fair few countries in the many years I have left and I'll take you all along, via blogger, when I go.
